    EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

    Dr. Bernabò organized and was invited to give several seminars for students and graduates in Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology and Biotechnology of Reproduction on the following topics: biomedical statistics, systems biology, effects of electromagnetic fields on human and animal health, reproduction, animal physiology.

    Dr. Bernabò was a supervisor (relatore) or a co-supervisor (corelatore) of several degree thesis, in Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology and Biotechnology of Reproduction, concerning the physiology of reproduction, the effect of electromagnetic fields on cells and gametes, and the computational modeling of the spermatozoa signal transduction pathways. He also was as a co-tutor for two students of the Doctorate Course in "Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology."

    2009-Present: is a member of the Academic Board of the Doctorate Course in "Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology", University of Teramo.

    2009: course "Networks in Biology: Analysis, Modeling and Reverse Engineering" held in Bologna on 22 to 25 September 2009, organized by European Genetics Foundation, European Society of Human Genetics and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). Director Dr. Diego di Bernardo (TIGEM).

    2008: course "Peer Review in Theory and in Practice. Training course for scientific officers of European research funding organizations" held in Bologna on 8 to10 November 2008, organized by European Genetic Foundation and Telethon. Directors: Prof. Giovanni Romeo (University of Bologna) and Dr. Lucia Monaco (Telethon).

    2008-present: University Researcher in Veterinary Physiology (SSD/VET02).

    2008: contract for Research Activity with the Department of Biomedical Comparative Sciences, University of Teramo, for the "Vesti l'Ambiente" project.

    2004-2008: Postoctoral fellowship, Veterinary Physiology Section, Department of Biomedical Comparative Sciences, University of Teramo. Project title "Development of innovative strategies for the cryopreservation of boar semen". 

    2002: Collaboration with Semenitaly s.p.a. (Modena Italy), for the realization of boar semen extender CREA®.

    2002: I° level Univeristy Master in "Biotechnology of Reproduction", University of Teramo (vote: 70/70). Title of the thesis: "Strategies for improving the quality of the refrigerated boar semen"

    2001-2004: PhD in Endocrinology of Domestics Animal, University of Bologna. Title of the thesis: "The role of the cytoskeleton in the acquisition of fertilizing power of the boar sperm".

    2000: Three years Diploma in  "Veterinary Acupuncture", Scuola di Agopuntira Tradizionale della Città di Firenze (vote: 30/30)

    1999: Degree in Veterinay Medicine (vote: 110 cum laude), University of Pisa. Title of the thesis: "Determination of acrosin activity in semen of animals of veterinary interest".
