  • OpenAIRE and OpeScience in Horizon 2020 is a workshop reserved to PhD students to provide them a technical introduction to OpenAIRE and Open Access purposes, structure and functionalities. 

    The main objective of this workshop is the better understanding about how facilitating collaboration through Open Science practices is the key component for producing quality research.

    Paola Gargiulo CINECA - OpenAIRE - NOAD

    Over the last 15 years she has been involved in promoting and advocating Open Access and institutional repositories in Italy and at international level. In 2004 she started a project at CASPUR to provide technical support to implement OA repositories and OA journals in universities based in the centre and the South of Italy. In the same year she joined CILEA in the development of the project PLEIADI, the Portal to Italian OA scholarly literature which she now coordinates. She is one of the founder of the OA-Italia wiki,the main source of information on Open Access issues in Italian. Since the merger of CASPUR and CILEA into CINECA, she has coordinated the participation of CINECA in FP7 funded projects related with Open Access issues. She has been responsible for the National Open Access Desk of OpenAire projects (2009-2011) and OpenAirePlus (2012-2014) for Italy and currently for the OpenAIRE project (2015-2018). She also coordinated the Italian participation in the European project MedOAnet (2011-2013). Speaker at conferences on issues relating to open access in the academic and scientific communication in Italy and abroad, member of the WG on OA of CRUI Library Committee (2006 - 2013), of WG on OA of EUAEuropean University Association (2007-2008), member of the WG of SCOAP3 (2007-2009) and currently member of the Governing Board of SCOAP3 (2014 -), she served on the SPARC Europe(Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition) from 2009 to 2012 and currently serves on the Board of AISA- Italian Association for the promotion of Science Open (2015- ).
