Morphological analysis of cells and tissues laboratory - Prof. Mohammad El Khatib - a.a. 2025/2026
Section outline
-
Dr. Mohammad El Khatib is a fixed-term Researcher (RTD-A) within the Department of Biosciences at the University of Teramo (SSD VET/01 – Veterinary Anatomy). He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the University of Teramo in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology (Doctor Europaeus title), with international research stays at INNOVENT e.V. Research Center (Germany) and ASSUT Europe S.p.A. (Italy). His scientific activity focuses on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, in particular on the development of biomaterials and 3D scaffolds for tendon regeneration, the use of amniotic stem cells, and the study of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in tendon repair.
He teaches courses at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels related to Tissue Engineering, Microscopy, and Technologies for the development of biomimetic devices for regenerative medicine applications. He has also supervised and co-supervised Master’s and PhD theses, as well as supported training activities in international doctoral programs.
The actual course provides students with both theoretical and practical foundations to understand the principles of cell and tissue morphology and the main laboratory methodologies for the study and characterization of biological systems, encouraging a critical and applied approach to modern biotechnologies.COURSE BOOKS

Exam Trial - Morphological analysis of cells and tissues laboratory Quiz
An exam trial is available to allow students to practice and familiarize themselves with the structure, timing, and level of difficulty of the final assessment for the Morphological Analysis of Cells and Tissues Laboratory course.
Availability period: From 11 February at 14:30 to 12 January at 23:59
Duration: 15 minutes
Purpose of the trial:
-
To practice answering questions under time constraints
-
To become familiar with the question formats
-
To test your understanding of laboratory principles, procedures, and interpretation of results
-
To identify topics that may require further revision before the final exam
Important notes:
-
The exam trial is not graded and does not contribute to the final mark
-
You may attempt the trial for practice purposes only ONCE
-
The content is representative of the final exam but not identical
Students are strongly encouraged to complete the exam trial to optimize preparation and reduce exam-day stress
