COURSE PRESENTATION
The main objective of the course in Cultural and Fashion History is to introduce students to the basic elements of European cultural history of the Modern Age with particular reference to the theme of the social and political role of appearance.
The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the changes in society and culture during this period. In order to achieve this aim, students will be led through a course that includes a general part dedicated to the main facts and protagonists of the Modern Age and a specific part focused on the history of the practice and regulation of luxury.
The result to be pursued is the learning by DAMS students (and also by those of other courses of study who may be interested) of knowledge useful to understand cultural phenomena from a historical perspective and to decipher the multiple and complex interactions between politics and culture.
